Privacy policy

Who we are

Capítulo Events is an event planning and design studio in Los Angeles, California. In this policy, “we” means Capítulo Events and “you” means anyone who visits this website or gets in touch with us.

What we collect

When you send an inquiry, we receive the answers you give:

• your name and email address
• the kind of celebration, a rough date, the location, the guest count and, if you share it, the budget range you’re considering
• what you tell us about your vision

Inquiries sent before October 2026 may also hold a phone number, a contact preference, the venue, the help asked for and how the sender found us, because the form asked for them then.

If we go on to work together, we also keep what we need for your proposal, quotes and invoices, such as your event details, the services we agree on and the amounts you’ve paid.

The server that delivers these pages sees your IP address and basic browser details, as every website’s server does. We use your IP address for a short time to stop the inquiry form from being flooded with spam. We don’t save it with your inquiry.

Cookies

The studio’s sign-in page sets cookies that keep the studio signed in; they don’t apply to visitors. We use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Fonts load from this site itself. Some photos load from our file storage at Cloudflare, which sees your IP address and browser details when it sends them, as any server does.

How we use it

We use your information:

• to reply to your inquiry and talk with you about your celebration
• to prepare proposals, quotes and invoices, and to plan your event
• to keep the records that tax and accounting rules require
• to keep this site secure and free of spam

We don’t use your information for advertising, and we don’t sell it or share it with anyone for advertising.

Who else handles it

Five companies process information for us:

• Railway hosts this website and the database where inquiries and client records are kept.
• Resend delivers the emails this site sends, such as the note we receive when you send an inquiry and the quotes and invoices we send to clients.
• Stripe handles online payments. If you pay an invoice online, you enter your card or bank details on Stripe’s payment page. Stripe tells us the payment went through; we never see your full card or account number.
• Intuit keeps our accounting records in QuickBooks, including your name and contact details, the invoices we send you and the payments we receive.
• Cloudflare stores our files: copies of the quotes and invoices we send, signed proposals and contracts, the photos on this site, and encrypted backups of our database.

Stripe and Intuit may use your information to prevent fraud and to meet their own legal obligations as well, under their own privacy policies. We would also share information if the law required us to.

How long we keep it

If an inquiry doesn’t lead to working together, we delete it automatically 24 months after it was last updated. The email that told us about your inquiry may stay in our inbox, and we’ll delete it if you ask.

If you become a client, we keep your records until you ask us to delete them. The exceptions are records connected to invoices we’ve sent and the copies we store of the quotes and invoices we’ve sent. We keep those for at least seven years, for tax and accounting purposes.

When we delete a record, a copy can remain in our database backups for up to about 8 days, until those backups expire.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it. Write to hello@capituloevents.com and tell us what you’d like, and we’ll let you know when it’s done. Records tied to invoices we’ve sent stay until tax and accounting rules allow us to delete them, and the copies we store of the quotes and invoices we’ve sent can’t be deleted until seven years after we stored them. We use them for nothing else in the meantime.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We honor both signals. Neither we nor any other company tracks your activity on this site over time or across other websites, and we don’t sell or share your information. The site works the same whether or not your browser sends either signal.

Children

This site is meant for adults planning celebrations. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us an inquiry, write to us and we’ll delete it.

Keeping it safe

Every page travels over an encrypted connection, and only we can sign in to see inquiries and client records.

Changes and questions

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here. Changes take effect on the date below. Questions about your privacy are welcome at hello@capituloevents.com.
